Car radio in safe mode

Hi
My car radio is stuck in safe mode
I know how to get to the part to enter the code, I just dont know the code
Could anyone help me out please

I have the serial number of the radio

Hi there. Try looking for the code under the ashtray, under the removable panel by the handbrake, or in the handbook. Failing that you could contact a seat dealer and see if they can find it, although that would only work if a previous owner hasn't changed it.

Without the code there is no way to unlock it, you will have to buy a aftermarket radio.

Sequence suggestions in manual and on many forums are garbage: this is exact process:

When display = SAFE (#)

Ignition off

Turn on radio for 1 hour: initial code appears

Using keypad enter for first digit by repeatedly pressing number 1

For second digit, repeatedly press number two, then do 3 and 4 similarly

Press PROG, radio comes on and works normally again.

Without the code there is nothing you can do except buy a new radio or go to SEAT

Sometimes it’s on a sticker on the unit itself. Pull it out for o check. Otherwise as said it’s seat or a new unit.

Try what Nick9-11 said above.
Never heard of it before but if it works then that’s huge for lots of people without a code on here.
Can’t hurt to try it. Let us all know if it works or not.

If you’ve got the serial number then SEAT should be able to get your code, but you’ll have to go into them as they won’t give it over the phone
