Car Stalling

HELP! Car Stalling. Bit of a problem!

Last night the Cupra developed a problem. The revs keep dropping below tickover and the car is stalling. Also, there is smoke pouring from the exhaust.

What we thinking? Lambda sensor?

I'm really starting to get annoyed with the car now.

I'm no fan of reliable cars, a break down here and there gives a car a personality, but it's getting beyond a joke now, it really is. I'm going to have a look at the car tomorrow with my dad and hopefully we'll be able to diagnose the problem correctly, and have it working by Monday.

If not, I may have to explore the option of getting a new car.

take the idle control valve off and try cleaning it out, it's worked for me in the past

i think they sieze up inside

there's another trick if the valve has siezed, tap it with a hammer and it can free it up inside

coolant temp sensor mate that sounds exactly what was happening with mines

To be fair roelich, you really have no end of issues with your valver. Then again, so have i.

The beauty of owning a mk2 ibiza i guess.........

Okay, it's sorted. Some kind of hose had popped off. I plugged it back on and it was sorted!
