Car won't go over 3000 rpm- splutters

hi there people i went to overtake a car last nite in my seat leon cupra r and the power died, there was no smoke so isnt the turbo but wen i am about to hit boost it splutters but i can still here the turbo spooling and it still dumps...

the car now will not go over 3k revs and if i try it just splutters.....

ive checkd the boost pipes there all ok...... been told it could be the coil pascks????

any advice would be very appreciated as i am stuck for ideas

coilpacks mate!! same happened on my mk4 golf 1.8T ... after 3k is just shuddered along. and i got a nasty smell through the vents too. and the engine management light was flashing too! poo'd myself, but luckily at the time i had a 1yr warranty from VW so they just changed them all. but from what i can remember they are about 37quid ... (about 2 yrs ago)

coilpacks for sure... had this in my 3 series twice, and apparently LC's are prone to this....

When you get new coil packs make sure the last digit of the part number is R becaue they are the latest ones
