CBAB 2.0tdi 140CR (P0299-000)

Hello,

Looking for some advice from those with any experience. This is actually my 2010 B6 Passat - but it's the common 140CR DPF engine.

Coming home today the car first started feeling a bit sluggish, the boost didn't seem to be coming in until after 2500-2750rpm then suddenly (probably 5th gear) the car went into limp mode and the glow-plug light started flashing. Zero boost and struggling up hills at motorway speeds.

I stopped when I could after 20mi or so and it cleared after turning the ignition off and on again (sort of expected it) I tried purposefully again to try and trigger it and it seemed only to happen in higher gears under load. The boost still seemed to be coming in later as well. It happened a couple of times more at which point I left it, but noticed the EML is on now.

Came home, scanned for codes and got:

000665 - Boost Pressure Regulation
P0299 - 000 - Control Range Not Reached - MIL ON

So... Had a Google and places suggest:

1/ check the wiring into the n75 valve for fraying
2/ check for vacuum leaks
3/ check the actuator
4/ VNT issues :(

Since it's totally pissing down I've not had any chance to get out and look. But come tomorrow does anyone have any suggestions where to start?

Anyone had the same issue?

TIA
