Changed my sidelights and DRL on 2012 Leon FR+ to LEDs and no errors :)

I just thought I would let people know that I have just changed my sidelights and daytime running lights to LEDs (will compare the colour to my Xenons tonight) and I don't have any errors. Lots of people seem to be having errors, so I thought you would like to know what has worked for me.

The items were all from HIDS-direct on ebay.

I used...

CANBUS 382 (P21W) 27 WHITE SMD LED ERROR FREE BULBS

and

CANBUS 501 (W5W) 8 WHITE SMD LED ERROR FREE BULBS


Nice and bright, I also have some


MTEC 9006 HB4 55w Cosmos Blue HID class xenon gas bulbs ( 220412756904 )

for the foglights, but haven't got round to changing them yet, I've read its rather tricky


All 3 sets came to £42.43 including postage.

Can I install the "CANBUS 382 (P21W) 27 WHITE SMD LED ERROR FREE BULBS" in my Leon Mk3 DRL's? It uses P21W. Just want to be sure!

Which ever you choose make sure the resistor is part of the bulb not abit that stick out of your headlight unit. I bought my cupra with led drls with the resistor out of the unit...unfortunately £1750 later seat found that it was letting water into the bi-xexnon headlight...safe to say ill not be putting any more led drls in lol

Hi all im new to cupra.net and was just wondering if its straight forward to swap my sidelights to LED's? (Already done my DRL's) just had to reverse the polarity, i have a facelifted mk2 leon fr plus 2.0tdi(stage2) thanku

What headlights do you have if there bizennon the side lights are 501 , your del would have been 382

Hi there yeah my leon does have xenon headlamps, sidelights and drl's were just a normal bulb though so ive already changed the drl's to LED's and am just about to do the sidelights, just wanted to know if id have to reverse the polarity again? Thanku

I didn't need to do anything with mine they worked straight out of the packet

I decided to just go ahead and put'm in lastnite and they work a treat! My bulb warning light has decided to come on on the dashboard though

Have Xenons on mine which do make DRL look very yellow so thinking about these for DRL with the Osram cool blue 501's I kept from my MK1 FR

Mine have worked fine for over a year as DRL
