I like those Ronal's. Do it.

K-Sport's will be good!

So tempted. When I get the car back on the ramp i'll compare the K Sport callipers to the Brembos, got a feeling the K Sport are thinner so clearance may not be as much of an issue.

Richard (mechanic) is back on 3rd so will see what he thinks & we'll get the software on, as getting major chatter from turbo at the moment as revo 2 clearly doesn't know what to do with all the new mods.

Scan with Vagcom to confirm that the chatter your getting is not a missfire. Revo is fine with the hybrid other than running rich which you can tame by making adjustments with unisettings. Search on vwvortex with regards to the limitations of the manifold you have fitted.:(

One word...bollocks:censored:...I tried to find info on these manifolds but to no avail, it was the cast option that appealed but looking at the timing of the posts on vwvortex is the same time I bought mine so not surprised no info. Thanks though at least there is a solution. Having done all the work myself I'm quite prepared to hack away at the collector :p

Sorry mate, the same thing happened to me, but its not appropriate to post some things on the forum and you can be seen as a hater etc. But all well that ends well and do consider a V3 xs mani as it will work well out of the box.:)

I know, one of those things bad luck with timing...think I'll pm Sam if can't sort. Thanks again.

Quick question that you may be able to answer. After fitting the rods, mani turbo etc, we turned the boost right down to 2 iirc as running things in. This I assume would mean that I'm running much lower psi, and therefore the yellow spring in the dv might be too stiff. The reason I ask is that I have not once heard the pish from the dv and wondered if this could cause the chatter. I'm sure it's not a miss fire as the chatter is more of flutter if that makes sense. I probably have this all wrong?

The yellow spring in the DV should be fine as its not that stiff but you could replace it with the green if unsure. You really need to scan with vagcom to confirm what the prob is. My LCR and another ran badly with the said mani. Its cast well but the csa of the three ports in the collector are way smaller than each runner themselves which will impede flow and sharing different runners to OEM causes additional probs. Any turbo flowing a reasonable amount will fail with this mani. The vendor is well aware of the prob and in denial..... disgusting really.:(

Will vagcom on sat morning. Stupidly I left all my tools at the garage over christmas so can't even change the spring till sat when I go down there.

So yours was the LCR referred to on that thread. Thinking that I might just cut losses and ball ache and get the relentless v3. Am I right in thinking that they have delevoped for ko4 hybrid and the GT eliminator?

Yep.
Another forum member was having problems with his car since it was fitted who spent a fortune trying to get to the bottom of the cause. It was only when mine did the same and we stuck with it until it was proved it was the mani did the issue show itself.
The V3 is simply a mani for the K04 turbo in what ever flavour it appears in, i run a reinforced V2 and its great... the V3 is made even better.

I put the car on vag com this morning which after clearing all the fault codes (11 of them) we put revo 3 on. Took it for a spin and opened her up. The chatter or flutter is still there but only when lifting off throttle, & even under very light load it does this?? But my god does she fly. However when on full wot at about 6500rpm engine light came on and it juddered. Checked for faults and multiple cylinder miss fire and cylinder 2 miss fire, plus n249 intermittent mechanical failure (this valve is deleted) Cleared them and did gradual run & no faults, then again on wot and same faults at the same rpm. Diagnosis on miss fire is definitely the mani. Not sure on the flutter yet or why the n249 is only throwing a code when miss fire occurs on wot.

Current settings are fuel 6 & boost 6.

Any thoughts on the flutter & n249 fault code?

Whilst some grumbles to iron out i'm really pleased so far:D

Good times ahead.:)

It's a 2871r eliminator series. I bought this one because you need a high flow manifold & I bought a JBS mani because it was cast ( copes with heat better), and had the k04 3 hole flange. The eliminator is 3 hole flange so direct bolt on. Best to put a post up on revo in trade section, Kev will tell you:D

Not much of an update really. Have ordered a relentless V3 manifold, thanks Sam. Will get this fitted ASAP as the current mani is really restricting performance at the moment.

Have done 500 miles now since rebuilding engine and gearbox after fitting new rods and LSD/clutch etc. Really pleased with how the LSD feels & as others who have this fitted will know, you really have to trust it to get the most out of it...a different driving style required for sure. The Awesome Gti clutch kit is performing fine also albeit not really tested fully against the kind of power i'm trying to get to.

Still plenty to be getting on with, either to fit or would like to get this year.

Fit new V3
Oil change
Gearbox oil change
Fit big brakes
Wire in oil temp gauge
Fit rear diffuser fins
Front upper strut brace (wish list)
Heat shield for cone filter (wish list)
Oil catch can (wish list)
Bigger DV (wish list)
Tidy the engine bay
Get the whole car detailed

I would like to bring the car over to the uk but new baby arrival is limiting what I can do, maybe next year.

Chris

Hopefully Chris. Mine should be about ready by then to travel about to shows and meets, so would be good to meet you and see your car, which is turning out to be a very nice build. Any further thoughts on what wheels/brake set-up you'll be going for?

Enjoy the arrival of the new baby; our's arrives in 7 weeks or so. Super excited but terrified!!!

James :)

Hi James, thanks for the well wishes, this is our 2nd & last! Good luck with your impending arrival. I will definitely aim to come over to the uk next year, i've given the mod bug to my sister & she is desperate for me to come over. She's got a mk v r32, I'm a little jealous to be honest as I nearly traded in for one last year but it had already sold, that's when I decided to go all out on the LCR:p
Not sure on the wheels, I do like the xxr 527 & the large 356 discs / 8 pots should fit...but then I gave the car a good clean today & might save myself some dough & stick with the ultras. Few pics

You're spot on with the diff. They're a top bit of kit that for some strang reason gets over looked. As far as the R32 goes it was lucky you didn't buy one. Unless you spend big cash on them they're a little under whelming. Not as hardcore as your car will be.
