Things are progressing nicely...received my new 3" DP & de-cat

It's from Magnex & looks good. The welds look solid.

I got confirmation from Issam at INA today that my con rod kit with rifle drilled rods was being despatched:D

This has also been shipped 370375802940 , can't wait to see it for real

Received a price from Awesome to ship an Awesome clutch & quaife diff..just need to commit..

Had a hiccup earlier whilst driving. Noticed car running rough, boost was spiking occasionally. Then the boost gauge lost all pressure and I knew something was up. Parked up and checked under bonnet. Using mobile phone as a torch i realised the shitty plastic vac tube supplied with the boost gauge had melted a hole and was leaking. For a temporary fix I disconnected from t piece and tied it in a knot. Replaced tube to t-piece & restored pressure but boost gauge doesn't register as I've cut the flow with my knot. Drove home and noticed a significant improvement. Need to get some proper silicone and all will be well again.

Cause it's US mate, they don't have seats over there I don't think. I have checked the part no. with uk sellers that advise it will fit LCR, so should be ok.

New turbo arrived today...

You can see the adapter to change the intake to 3" feed. I tried to trial fit the adapter but the hole to thread is about 1mm (probably less) off so will either have to skim a bit of the inside of the bolt hole or give it bit of force...dremmel probably best don't know yet.

I have trial fitted my JBS high flow mani - perfect fit, although the bolts that came with the mani are about 5mm too long so will cut these down.

All in all really pleased..

Rod kit should be with me soon, & need to get on & order 550cc injectors.

Also got my wheels back repainted. Not 100% sold on the colour though. Car is filthy and angle is poor as rushed it on way out to work this morning.

As I like the stance I no longer need the spacers so selling them 2x5mm & 2x10mm. 230826278321 & 230826282199 pm if anyone interested as would do a deal for the lot.

....also have ordered some stiffened poly top mounts and bearings, and some of ECS rear wheel centering plates, all from PSI tuning. Bosch 550cc injectors are on their way too.

Having read some other peoples BT build threads I'm concerned about not just rods (which I have forged ones now), but all the other internals, pistons, valves, springs, crank etc, all breaking under increased power and torque. The motor has just turned 50k, has only been ragged a few times in its life, so wondering whether I need to invest...

...couple of little bits arrived this week

Custom spoiler from SCN member that I got painted in the uk & shipped over

Work have been kind & given me a decent bonus so will be ordering new Awsome clutch and quaife diff...hoping to have enough left over to sort the handling, bushes, arb's braces etc...can't wait:D

I think your car looks great bud.

Im going for the full rod package too, and all the other gubbins that come with it aswell. I think when they arrive it will be a mouth watering moment lol. I was interested ages ago in the JBS manifold too, as they put my stage 1 Custom code map on my car. They are a true engineering firm so i trust their work.

One question though, if you dont have road long enough to do 4th gear logging, then how the hell you going to test out your big turbo? ;)

Thanks Bret, I was struggling too to find a high flow mani, reading about some of the tubular types cracking I felt more comfort with the cast option, and from an engineering firm that know what they're doing..their mani for the K03 seems proven. One thing I will say is that having a mechanic whom you trust counts for a lot. You have Alex, I have Richard from Enigma Automotive, Channel Isles revo specialist. The first thing he noticed when I showed him the JBS mani was some moulding cast off (not sure that is the right term) on the inside, but said with some light dremmaling he could smooth this out. I wouldn't have noticed this or if I had thought it would make a lot of difference, but he knows clean flow is key.

Logging is an issue, but more for Richard as he doesn't like to log above 3rd gear for safety reasons (speed / breaking in short spurts). We have a RR (not at Enigma sadly), but I've heard they've blown some engines:(. I do however come over to the uk a few times a year & over to France. Plan is to track it eventually in France, there's a club over here with some really nice motors; Porsche, Ferrari, lots of Astons all common as muck over here, but in my class some Subaru's, Evo's, 370z etc that go over a few times a year...i would be the only LCR;)

Anyhoo still so much to do, & like you I don't like to things by half...clutch, diff, oil coolers or wmi, bushes, arbs...it's never ending but I love it..

Chris

Fitted ECS rear wheel centre plates...finally got rid of that annoying gap at the back of the wheel arch...looks great, so pleased. Also fitted new polybush top mounts and bearings and did the outer cv gaiter whilst the the hub was off.

Nearly finished with the exterior now, just waiting on Kev at Triple R to develop the rear diffuser, and can concentrat on the BT build.
