After a long 2 and a bit years with the ibiza, it finally went .......
BUT
i managed to find myself a rather nice looking mk3 golf VR6, in 3 door, so i got on the case and got myself up to leighton buzzard to collect her. The bodywork is a bit tatty, but that can be corrected at a later date. 138k on the clock, and has had everything but the timing chains done, they're all good at the moment, so will address them when it comes to it. It is the earlier OBD1 VR6 engine, and bieng a K reg (1992) it's got a dizzy, not coilpacks like the later OBD1 and OBD2
it is already on jamex coilovers, but the fronts are far too bouncy, so will replace them with some newer better quality items. and the exhaust is blowing slightly, so will address that with a longlife system maybe at the end of september. The leather is a rather retro looking red and blue, which i really like so possibly an old school theme with the car
the night that i got it i fitted the pipercross panel filter that i had bought, and got busy with the saw and the airbox, the result is that the car now roars, and puts a massive smile on my face, although it makes my wallet cry
here are some piccies, i washed her, and gave her a good tidy up, including dressing the bumper trim in meguiars endurance tyre gel, its awesome for restoring them, and it smells AMAZING. Also fitted my stereo (didnt come with one) and my sub, this is for cruising and enjoying driving
anyway, here are the piccies
