Cleaning calipers

Hi,

What do people use to clean calipers?

I have some Red AP racing calipers, but which now have some black marks of break dust etc which wont come off.

Ive tried alloy wheel cleaner, not stronger enough.

Then I tried alchohol based solvent cleaner, but that was too strong, as some of the red was coming off on the cloth!

any ideas people?

Both of the above will not be good on the AP calipers. Toothbrush and elbow grease is whats needed.

I cleaned up some alloy wheels that had black stuff all over the 2 front ones with ceramic hob (that thing in the kitchen that women can use better than us men) cleaner & they came up superb with no damage at all
