Climate Control/ Heater Problem

Hi

I seem to be having a problem with the heating in my car (not good at this time of year). The air coming from the vents doesn't get warm no matter what temp i set it to whilst at a standstill, as i start to drive it becomes warmer but when i slow down it gets colder. If i'm on the motorway though it will get up to a decent temp and stay like that.

Could my aircon need a service/ regassing?
Or could it be the heater matrix?

Thanks

No mate i've not got it, my HDTV is bust at the moment so i'm having to make do with a 20 inch and i can't stand standard def gaming now! I should be getting a new TV within the next couple of week, i still might forfeit COD 5 though and wait for 6 and in the meantime clock up a few hours on Killzone when it comes out!

mine started with heaters doing that pal and now its at ted johnsons, cause the engines overheatiing and the coolant and water keeps disappearing and theres a constant big build up off pressure. they carnt tell me what the problem is yet thou as my coolant hose pipe has a big split in it (there not sure if thats the problem or if its because of another fault which then in turn has caused the pipe to split) so they need t get that part in and fix it on before they can find out if theres any major damage eg head gasket going.

heres hoping its just the pipe thats gone but i dont think it will be somehow

That doesn't sound good, mine'll be going to Ted Johnsons for its aircon service. I hope that'll sort it, if not they might have an idea after they finished with yours.

Mine did something similar, never went very cold with air con on in summer and never really went very warm either.

Trip to local garage for a regass of the system and its sorted. Saying it may need regassing prehaps.

It's nothing to do with the Refrigeration gas, this gas is for cooling not heating. My first guess would be that your thermostat is stuck open.

If the thermostat is stuck open the temp needle will show you that the water takes a lot longer to warm up and once warm the water temp will not be stable

I don't think its the thermostat in that case, it still warms up at the same rate it always has and stays stable. Cheers anyway, at least its ruled that out.

You could guve JBS a ring they are only in Chesterfield, they might be able to do it, and i should imagine it'll be cheaper than SEAT.
