clunking from front!!

over the past few weeks coming up for months now, i can hear a clunking sound coming from what seems to be the front left wheel/ suspension anybody experienced this and any suggestions to what it could be? cheers

well i hope it is just the bushes because they sound alot cheaper to fix than the traction control!

and just out of interest how would the traction control be making any noise?

How much was it to change the bushes mate? And could you change the bushes or did you need to buy a new arb too?

Mine does the same clunking sound, so does my partners Cupra R, I'm taking mine into Strom developments tomorrow, they think it's the bushes as well! We'll soon see!

Had this for months as well and it had become quite uncomfortable to encounter a pot hole!
It was the front bushes - replaced them all with powerflex versions. Cost ~£250, incl wheel alignment.

Funny you say this.

My car has had this since i bought it. Even the service history from the previous 2 owners has had this investigated and no place has been able to find the fault.

Did you used to get this when turning full lock?

Dan, mine does sound different from yours. Was noticable on going over things - especially clunky and uncomfortable (did it on full lock but that wasn't the cause). Would of thought garages would have noted the bushes were worn if that was the problem?

On my car I had a clunking noise, from one side, sounded like I was going of cats eyes...

It turned out my drive shaft was on its way out

same with mines with the clunking noise. how can you tell the bushes are on their way out?

Mine clunks every quarter turn to the right for some reason? Any one got any ideas? Its ok when at driving speed but when goin 5 - 10 mph you can feel and hear it. Im gunna take it to the garage but I only got the car on Friday so I'm a bit scared its gunna be something serious

mine seems to make the noise when going over uneeven surfaces!takin it to the garage soon, ill let you know what it is!
