Why do you need to worry about how long it takes?
If it's an 05 car it should be covered by warranty so the labour costs per hour will be covered. If you need your car then can you not have a courtesy car?
I assume it's because it's slipping due to a remap ? If that's the case, then not much point in having it done under warranty at the dealer as you'll just get another standard clutch, your options would be:
1) Drive around the problem
2) Get the remap knocked back a bit
3) Get an uprated clutch fitted by an independent
no its a car i have bought only a week ago, its got only 10k on the clock and is 2005, just wondering how lo9ng they would need it for if its definetly the clutch, slippin when you out the foot down anytime.... very strange for a car with only 10k
The car is going to seat on tuesday to be looked at, fingers croossed they can sort it out , as of yet i havent felt how it pulls at all due to the clutch
My (remapped) Ibiza FR TDI has started slipping its clutch, so I think it's time I went for the uprated Sachs clutch.
Can anyone recommend a good independent garage who do this sort of work regularly, within a reasonable distance from south-west London (Kingston/Surbiton area, or nearby)?
Or is the clutch upgrade a relatively straightforward job that any independent could do?
took it to seat yesterday, replacing clutch friction plate no problem, being done next wed. the guy said the car feels as though its been re mapped but he couldnt tell for sure. is there any way i can easily tell or do i need a rr to prove that?
firstly took the car to my mate who does remapping professionally, says the car has had a map which he thought was a very good one at that, wed came and new clutch in foc, car pulls so well its unbelieveable the difference now.
well pleased now
