Fabia vRS PD130 Custom remap @ 5K - no slip.
Same remap @ 15K - slight slippage in fourth & fifth @ max boost/torque.
Same remap @ 25K - slippage in third, fourth & fifth @ max boost/torque.

An uprated clutch was on the cards ever since I had the remap done, but I didn't really need until now (two years down the line).
I've been "driving around" the clutch slip by not giving it a welly full @ 2Krpm in the higher gears. But what's the point in having all that torque & not using it!! :)

2005 (55) 150 PD Leon

Revo done in September and immediate slip, Revo removed for a refund about 6 weeks later as i couldnt live with it and there was no was i was paying for a better clutch, nobody seemed to have a clue about what a better one was anyway from the garages i rang.

Lucky bugg**s!! I think the issue is more with Revo and other more aggressive remaps as they push the car upto and beyond the 300lbft limit. Having read a lot more recently, quite a lot of remaps are a little more progressive or peak at a little less power/torque.

We live and learn! I'd still go for an aggressive map tho - personal choice I s'pose even tho a little better informed now!

Tbh i would probably still go for the revo remap aswell but it just a big 'put off' when you hear this many people having clutch slip.

Yeah, you're right but for me I'd go into it with eyes open and budget for the clutch upgrade too.

I don't know if Revo would entertain a more gentle and less peaky map for those that trust the company but are put off by the costs of a clutch swap. I just know if there's a map out there that is known to be safe (other than the clutch) and has more power, I'd opt for it every time!

Mmmmmm Greed!!!!

Your sig says Allards plate, is that the cluth plate your are adding and does this solve the slip? How much does this come in at?

If you use one of the tuners that will tweak/customize the map in case you have a problem, you should be fine.

Ive looked at these maps aswell mate but you cant 'switch' these back to standard without going back to the dealer which would be a major problem for me when considering a remap

The plate is just the clutch friction disk. I don't need (according to trusted advice) the pressure plate or any other upgraded components with just a remap. Allards confirmed this with my car only having covered 28k. They reckon that higher mileage cars may need an new pressure plate etc and for a straight remaped motor the OEM products are fine. They also advised to ensure that the dual mass flywheel was OK too (there's a lot of discussion on DMF's in here!).
