Ah so not the full monty 3" version. Did you notice any improvement over the stock item???

What other mods do you have???

nah didnt want 3 " not going for big power so didnt really want to, :) it seems to be a little laggy pulling away but when boost comes in its boosts alot harder and mid range is seems to have a better punch
MODS ,custom code stage 1, forge TIP,green cone filter, forge DV, n249.

cabin noise isnt to bad slight slight drone but nothing to worry about sitting at 75/80 you can still chat, dame better than the evos ive had lol its lushhh :rofl:

Boys - I have fitted my Cobra 3" turbo back, decat non res system and its amazing. The build quality is excleent the sound is immense.

Now the main worry was with a decat the cabin drone would be really bad - actually this is not the case. Driving around and motorway driving is fine, similar to that of a standard exhaust. Boot it around and the boost and sound is addictive to say the least!

tbh inside the car I hear the boost as much as I hear the exhaust. outside the car its similar, until the car passes and you and all you hear is the exhaust!!

Good good Tim. This is what I wanna hear. Won't be going decat. But if the decat is bearable on motorways then the 200 cell will be great. Cheers dude.

Yeah a 200cell cat will make it quieter I guess, if you want a quiter one then go resonated. Mines non res, sounds lush but every now and again I think hmmm maybe it's too loud? Then I boost and think ooohhh yeah that sounds amazing!! Lol

Power gains? Yes - but that's because I had my stage 2 software flashed onto it to compensate for 3" exhaust system and the decat error mapped out. So it's pushing more then 280bhp now, I'll get it on a rolling road soon to find out as I have my printout from 2 months ago.

I have a Milltek decat and it's not boomy at all on motorways and that's with a Piper cat back which is known as one of the loudest aftemarket off the shelf cat-backs you can buy.

Decat all the way :)

I bet it's keeping you awake at night just like the night before Christmas as a kid ( I still do :) ) lol. Having to wait till Tuesday I's a pain. But I know how you feel looking at my big turbo set up I'n my shed knowing it'd be a few months till it's fitted :(

Dont you have the tools to do it yourself? Hardest part was disconnecting the old pipe, bought an angle grinder the next day, couldve saved me a lot of time! If you have a proper jack + 2 axle stands (or ramps), you can pretty much do it yourself

Lol. I WISH I could attempt that, but will leave it to the pro's. Attempted to do stuff years ago and making things worse is not cool.

Yeh Aaron it's killing me, but tbh the guy that's fitting it just told me that after his inspection. The welds look great etc but I may have to drop the subframe :( due to the downpipe and cat being one piece!

Hmm that's 3 allignments now in 6 months looool.

Did u see my post about fitting it? It's a ball ache for sure! But the cobra system came in 3 pieces. And the standard LCR is in 2 pieces - down pipe then the catback to back box. You can cut the exhaust off into 3 pieces. You can also fit the down pipe from turbo without dropping the subframe but it's a lot harder.

Taken from my readers ride:

This week I fitted my 3" turbo back, decat non res COBRA exhaust system. It came delivered to work for £610 all in. Could not wait to fit it!

The exhaust came in 3 bits, down pipe and decat, centre section and back box.

Unfortunately I was not supplied with the fitting kit I should have been supplied with - so I contacted Cobra and they sent out a gasket and bolt kit. I jacked the car up on axle stands and ramps and looked underneath to start my work. I knew that the standard system is in 2 pieces which means cutting off the old system. You can do this with a hacksaw - I used a angle grinder!

The middle section you can unbolt - but my bolts where so bad I had to grind them down then punch them out.

I started from the back to the front incase anything happened I could still drive the car. This is a complete ball-ache by the way and exceptionally hard on axle stands/ramps. I had to prop the car higher then pictured and even then it was very hard to manoeuvre the middle section over the rear axle to meet the back box. Eventually got this done by (hitting with a hammer) the hook that is on the rear middle section of the exhaust in order to bend it slightly so I could get it through. Once that was done, bent it back job done!

Next bit was the turbo back, again exceptionally difficult to get too open the bonnet to get the light in! I was fortunate I had 2 other people with me (1 my brother and the other my mate who is a mechanic for Regal Autosport) so together we managed to do it and fit it.

If you do not have the correct tools I would strongly suggest you get it fitted by a garage.

I actually wish now that I had gone for the resonated system, so much so that I will be getting a silencer welded in by my local exhaust specialist because it is too loud for me. (for £30 for a resonated system from Cobra, I really wish I had done it!)
