Code out Bonnet switch to stop alarm going off?

Hi all,
I recently replaced the front end as near as damn it on my Mrs Mk1 Leon and the bonnet mech on the front panel doesn't have the sensor for the alarm/bonnet being open. As a result it sets off the alarm unless the key is in the ignition and switched on. I have VCDS can I code this out?

Just join the wires? It's a basic connection, you could probably do it with a paperclip & insulation tape

Or remove the connector and join the wires together or would like other things would it need a resistor of sorts to be put in place?

It's a basic switch you're emulating. No need for a resistor
