Evening,

Was wondering if anybody could help/confirm a problem I'm having with the motor....

Did an Oil change & spark plug change today, now gone for a drive after an at about 3k revs or more in any gear it gets very juddery...

Is it what I suspect that one of the coil packs is now faulty, or is there something i've done during the oil&sparky change that could have caused this?

Cheers guys!

Could be that :-

- a coil pack isn't fully pushed down over the plugs
- electrical connector not fully mated on coil pack
- a duff plug (or plug gap incorrect)
- new plug has caused old coil to go

well just vag.comed it and got :

VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N

2 Faults Found:
16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0300 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16685 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
P0301 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

sparks were IK22's Denso Irdiums so nowt wrong with them are there??? 0.4mm gap and remapped to 275bhp!

Il check connections, if not il get AA out i reckon and think they carry spares on board..

Was the bank 1 coil pack!

back to not starting very well again tho but now running properly!!! thankg od!

Cost me £40 let me keep the knacered coil pack!

Can i take that back to seat to replace it?

Good news.

If you're cars under 5 years old then yes under extended warranty.

Hope your dealer's more helpful than mine though. They wouldn't just swap it for a new one, they wanted to see it malfunctioning in the car. Even then they wouldn't let me book it in as a while you wait job, even though it only takes 2 mins to swap, 20 mins tops with hooking up diagnostics. Said they'd need the car for 2.5 hrs. I said I'll need a courtesy car then. Two weeks later I drive the car down with a good coil pack in, park it on the forecourt, lift the bonnet and swap in the duff coil pack. Walk up to service desk and say I'm dropping car off for a coil pack replacement and a courtesy car. 'Why' said the service guy 'we can do it whilst you wait. Its only a 20 min job' !!!!! I explained that's what I'd tried to tell them and said OK then, I'll wait. 'Only thing is the service guys don't start for another half hour' he said. The drive to work in the courtesy car went quickly though ....

You might need to remind your dealer of the 5 year warranty, mine also took some persuading til they rang HQ and heard it for themselves.

By the way weren't you a fellow GTi-6'er ?
