Hi, 1st time post but been looking in for a while i just could'nt risist any longer. I was wondering if anyone can help or has had the same problem. I've an 04 leon cupra r and the number 1 cylinder coil pack packed in 6 weeks ago. This was replaced and the same thing happened yesterday to the same cylinder!? Any help appreciated as it's going to be expensive toy to keep if i'm having to buy a new coil pack every few weeks. Cheers.

Never heard of the same 1 going twice, had no 1 go on mine replaced it then couple of days later got same prob so replaced the other 3 and it solved the prob. Most people will tell you that when replacing coil packs you should do all 4 at same time. Hi & welcome to scn by the way mate.

Cheers for the advice bud. I'll do that. I'm just hoping in a way that it was just a dodgy 1. But if i replace the other 3 and the number 1 coil pack goes again any ideas on what's causing it?

Maybe worth trying the coil in another cylinider just to be doubly sure it is the coil that is faulty. If it is i would take it back and get an exchange - 6 weeks is no time for one of these that are designed to last years! However if it fails again after changing it i would def get a electrics specialist to look at car, may be a power surge or something else that isnt obvious to the human eye.
I had a car once that used to go through wheel bearings every few months! One would fail then a few months later another and then the original. Car was checked at garage that fitted them and could find no reason. they kept replacing them foc until they arranged for a car body shop to look at car and found a alingnment problem in the body shell or something which was stressing them! Would never have spotted it by eye.
