Hi peeps, I'm after some coilovers but don't want to go over the top on the price, looking at spending around the 2-250 mark, ive seen the 1's on eBay, Jom, fk street, ect has any1 got these fitted, are any of these any gd,cheers skinz

im lucky i jus bagged myself a set of free fk coilovers from a mate with too much money :)

but coilovers are probably the way to go as they are probably better designed to handle the shock from lowering.

but dont get a cheap set they will only break.

plus if you get an adjustable set you can adjust it for your needs. for example if you wanna go out for a fun drive with ur mates you can drop the ride height.

but if you want a long journey for more practicle reasons you can put it back up.

id say coilovers over springs anyday.

Yea seen the jom's but not sure if there any gd, Adam have u fitted the FK'S yet, will have a look through some old threads, just makes it easier to ask Q. If I start my own thread

I've got joms, if you end up getting them look on mark Wales readers ride and look at the guide on them to stop them knocking, and wither get the garage to do it or do it yourself before fitting. It will save you some time, I'm doing it this weekend an have to take them out :(

The FK do have a slightly better build quality over the JOM kit, also worth while considering the Prosport.

Let me know if I can be any help with info or prices.

I had a set of JOM's and found the ride quite crashy (they were cheap and did the job though). However I've been in a couple of cars with the basic FK's fitted and found that they're quite a bit more forgiving.

damain can you give me some prices on the fk street and the pro sports plz, also seen that i need adjustable drop links, when i looked at the pro sport 1s they only give a max drop of 60 but the fk's give a drop of 100, so think i would prob be the fk's, is there any other make to look at cheers

I currently have jom coilovers fitted to mine, because they were cheap. If your after racing/track days they're no good. Inner front on mine picks up at high speed cornering obviously spinning the wheel an slowing you right down. They are very hard too. I would advise spending a few extra quid and get some that have more than ride hight adjustability but Ive never owned a decent set so I can't really advise any, just advise you stay away from cheap ones because they're cheap for a reason.
If its just the lowered look your after they're spot on, mines low and its still got about 50mm to go on the adjuster on the front.

Damian @DPM . I'm looking to buy some coilovers, but I want to go down the route of using Skoda Octavia VRS ARB and Skoda Octavia drop links along with Octavia coilovers, I'm going down this route due to the problem of drive shaft knock. What deal can you offer on the FK coilovers , ARB and drop links

I have joms can't complain handles really well on the cupra
