Hi

i have seen a few ibizas on here that have had the bumper strips colour coded and i really like the look of it,

i have a 1.4 ibiza so the bottom of my front and rear bumper is black plastic aswell as the bumper strips,

my question is how much would i be looking at to get my bumpers colour coded?? can anyone who has had this done in the past let me know how much they paid and were they got it done,

the paintwork is silver wich im pretty sure is metallic paint if that makes any difference,,

thanks

Think most people do it them selves so it will cost wat ever a couple of cans of primer, paint and laquer are.
think the paint code is in the boot, correct me if im wrong

well i used to have a red mk3 vw golf, i painted the front bumper on that myself and it came out pretty good, but with my ibiza i want a really good finish as when you paint with spray cans you will always be able to notice it in good light or under street lamps etc,

plus it is silver metallic paint, ive never used metallic paint in a can before not sure how great it would come out,

i am very tempted to have a crack and just paint them myself, it would save me alot of money,

can anyone post a picture of their colour coded bumpers and tell me if they done it themself or if it was done at a paintshop

I got my Dad to do mine, he is by no means a professional spray paint, but he does have a spray gun.

Here it is primed and ready for painting

looks a good job aswell,

so the black plastic strips on the front and rear bumper are removable then?

do the bottom parts of the front and rear bumper come apart aswell? if they do then i think i will paint them myself,

i just dont like the idea of having to mask half my bumper off and paint up to an edge

im now thinking of doing them myself but with a proper spray gun instead of spray cans,

does anone know were u can buy paint from for a spray gun?? des it workout more expensive?

the thing is as mine is a 1.4 the bottoms of the bumpers are black plastic aswell as the bump strips, does anyone know if the bottom part of the bumpers is detachable from the rest of the bumper?

im sure they detach i think theres some clips

you can get paint mixed up at halfords if need be

im guessing you have a spray gun and comprssor then?

well my grandad passed away a couple of years back, but he had a spray gun and compressor wich my mum said was a really expensive one,
aparently when he died it was passed on to my uncle so im going to find out if i can borrow it,
might be a little old fashioned but aslong as it works im sure it will be fine,

otherwise ive found some on the net that are around the £50 mark,
i was thinking i may even buy one and do the whole of both bumpers and then use it to do my wheels

yea i have had a good finish out of a can before, i will dig out some pics of my old golf bumpers that i painted people actually didnt believe that i painted them myself, but spray cans are just a little more tricky to use, like when one can runs out and spits bits of paint randomly everywere,

does anyone know of any well priced good quality spray guns, if i buy one i want a descent one as im sure i will have many uses for it in future
