I present to you a complete VCDS Guide for MK4 Seat Ibiza and Cordoba Models. This is still a work in progress and if you have any requests or additions, pop me a PM and I'll update the file!

This has been compiled with months of work for a free distribution. This VCDS guide may also work with Fabia and Polo models, however, this is untested.

One question how do you find out the SKC code to be able to code keys etc.

You need VAG Commander or VAG-Tacho to read the immobiliser. VCDS doesn't have that ability.

Ahh does VAG Commander use the same cable as VCDS if so need to get myself a copy.

No, they both use a different interface, eBay is a good source.

Hi Badger, first I would like to say well done for the vcds manual.

Tonight, and after clearing a fault light, I started "playing" with vcds, just looking at info from the different measuring blocks. However ended up in "basic settings" under the Engine category, scrolled up two or three groups, then noticed the engine started revving up, and the glow plug light started flashing!

At this point I shat myself, and quickly exited from the menu. The revs returned to idle and the glow plug light went off, all seems normal. My question is would there be a chance I changed anything, or was the vcds just testing the selected group? (can't remember which group exactly)

Would appreciate if you could shed some light on this?

You probably ran basic settings on group 11 which tests the boost at idle and about 1800 rpm.

You haven't broken anything, it's normal.

i take it that vcds is the program to use with seats sorry a bit new to all this computer system in a car and just looking at what the best way to start up would be
