Compressor failure

My aircon was not blowing cold air and I just had it in the garage for a diagnostics.

There's enough gas in the system and a vagcom scan revealed no errors and that in theory the system should be working but it's still blowing hot. So the conclusion is that the compressor's packed in.

I'm trying to source a part but ECP are showing 3 for my registration number - price range is from £306 - £599. (Hopefully the one at £306 fits).

I'm trying to cross check it agasinst my engine code. Where can I find this?

Also, any other advice most appreciated!

yes the guy at the garage said (to use his words) "the electronic clutch is working". I'm guessing this is what this means. I wasn't sure what he meant.

I was watching the readngs on vagcom and he ran through all the tests and everything from the electronic side of things suggested it should be working but it just wasn't blowing out cold air.

I'm hoping to take my compressor off next week and you could have cheap if it fits your car. My car is a mk4 ibiza TDI 130 ASZ engine year 2003. I know it's a long shot but could save you some cash?

I've just given the dealer my chasis number and asked them to confirm the part number so they're away to check (apparently the system is listing 2 and the parts guy is soingto email the factory).

Could you put a note of your part number when it comes off and if it's the same then this could be just the solution i'm after.

Yes no problem. It will be at the garage next wednesday and hopefully they can find a shorter aux belt and do the mod then i'll let you know.
