What mileage is on the car? Thing with the diesel I found is that after a few miles on the clock they certainly loosen up. Might just take a bit of getting used to with the gears as it will be different to your old one. Best is leaving say in 5th around 35mph then flooring it and leaving everyone in a cloud of soot:lol:

not quite 200 miles yet so still a baby! The power is fantastic isn't it, reckon I might need a mini-airbag behind my head, good job the headrests are a bit cushioned! As my mate said - this is a car to scare your friends in! As if I would......

no, pre-facelift, hence the £3k off list price. Luverly looking beast of a car though. Plenty of little extras inside too the '51 TDi Sport didn't have.
Didn't realise the power steering is automatically adjusted with speed? Is this standard or something extra?

Is that the only reason you want to talk about your car :p Think you have to leave it an hour, I'm not sure.

Yes, the steering can be made 'heavier' using vag com, programme that the dealers use. I think it comes set on 2 usually, but I have increased mine to 4. Few people will have vag com on their laptops including me so if you are ever stuck just give a shout to someone. Most of all just enjoy the car! Only killer was the insurance for me, well, its not too bad I guess, but I should have had a years NCB and bein only 20 it was £1100. Next year though will have 2 years NCB as the last insurer finally gave it to me

I got my 20vt insured for 707 2 yrs NCB which i thought was not too bad :)

I think i need to get hold of an old laptop and vagcom
No, I don't have my 1 years NCB on as it came 3 months into the policy! Don't know if I can ring up and say the last insurers cocked up and only just given it me.

Owch, £1100 insurance! I'm 31 and with 12 years no claims have just had renewal quote for £500 for the new car. Gonna shop around but so far no-one else has come close.
Back to the condensation for a minute - won't it actually cause damage inside the fitting over time? Can't it fail an MOT for this (by which time of course the car's will be out of warranty or nearly so)? For the people who've dried them out after taking the backs off - does it still come back after?

Only if the condensation starts to pool i.e instead of dropplets you have a lake in the unit! That will it short the lights, then you require a new unit.

Anyone tried the coloured headlamps from the seat accessories, do these create condensation?

Yes the condensation will always be there, best bet is to leave your light on for a bit so the bulb warms up and get rid of some moisture. You'll get it even when washing the car.

My insurance at 26 is £1200 with 0 NCB, and now with (touch wood) 1 NBC it is now £1600 from the same company WTF.
