I know it's bad, but if I was going to do DSG it'd have to be FR or Cupra in order to get the paddles!

(I'm so sad!)

My concern with either option is what the real world economy would be? Cupra or petrol FR owners care to comment on what they get? (Again bearing in mind that the majority of my commute is on the motorway...)

Don't blame you though, I reckon I would have enjoyed using the paddles myself!
:D

I have not reset my MPG2 reading since i got the car (roughly 1 year ago)

BOTH Trip Computers reset themselves automatically.
Trip Computer 1 resets when the ignition has been off for more than 2 hours.
Trip Computer 2 resets after 19 hours and 59 minutes travel time or 1,999 km (1,242 miles).

You haven't manually reset MPG2 but in normal use it will have reset itself several times over the course of a year. So your overall average of 26.5MPG will not be for the whole year but only since it last reset itself.

I reset Trip Computer 2 when I fill the tank and compare the average mpg2 display with the calculated mpg.

Ahh right thanks for that :D iv never seen it being much higher than that tho tbh so my average is probably still rather low :p

duffy_90, you must be having fun using that power to get 26 mpg overall.

btw I'm originally from (West) Hartleppol also and now less than 30 mins from PD Tuning.

Im having lots of fun :p i car share to work so my car hardly gets driven and when it does its just around town so the lack of long distance driving probably isnt helping. Oh so you're from the headland? or as it was west hartlepool i have a few mates who live over that way im closer to hart village

So, went for a bit of an explore today.

Test drove an Ibiza FR TDi. It felt (and obviously is) a hell of a lot lighter than my current Astra. Really loved how much I could chuck it about. Lovely to get back to a nice torquey 2.0 TDi engine.

But... I'm not sure I can go back to something like the Ibiza. Like the Fabia it just feels a bit, basic I guess. I think a few years ago I might have fallen in love with it straight away, but having had a Golf and a high-spec Astra, perhaps I'm a little spoilt.

However... I also looked at the Leon a little, and I think there may be some real potential for a swap here. Interestingly, whilst I'd always been fixated on the FR, I saw a brand new Sport and had a play with it. Obviously it's 'only' got 140PS, but it was very drive-able. I'm hoping I might manage to find a DSG for a reasonable price.

So I've put the Astra on Autotrader to see what I can get for it. As long as I'm not making a massive loss, I think you might be looking at a new Seat owner in a few weeks.

*fingers crossed*
