So, went for a bit of an explore today.
Test drove an
Ibiza FR TDi. It felt (and obviously is) a hell of a lot lighter than my current Astra. Really loved how much I could chuck it about. Lovely to get back to a nice torquey 2.0 TDi engine.
But... I'm not sure I can go back to something like the
Ibiza. Like the Fabia it just feels a bit, basic I guess. I think a few years ago I might have fallen in love with it straight away, but having had a Golf and a high-spec Astra, perhaps I'm a little spoilt.
However... I also looked at the Leon a little, and I think there may be some real potential for a swap here. Interestingly, whilst I'd always been fixated on the FR, I saw a brand new Sport and had a play with it. Obviously it's 'only' got 140PS, but it was very drive-able. I'm hoping I might manage to find a DSG for a reasonable price.
So I've put the Astra on Autotrader to see what I can get for it. As long as I'm not making a massive loss, I think you might be looking at a new Seat owner in a few weeks.
*fingers crossed*
