I would hazzard a guess to say thermostat, also check the housing to ensure that there aren't any cracks and that the coolant hose is in good condition. If you havent got G12 in your hoses can disintegrate slowly.

On the leon at the bottom near side corner of the radiator there is a 'tap'. just turn it and it will drain out.
Id imagine the ibiza is the same.
Just look for the pipe connected to the bottom of the radiator, it will be on that pipe immediately as it comes off the radiator.
(just think the lowest part of the coolant system)

You need to get any undertray off, then get under the car to get access.

No luck, i got a second opinion in case i was being blind, ended up breaking the clip and pulling the hose at the bottom off and replacing the clip

On the up side it was the temp sensor pictured above and everything seems to be sorted so thank you everyone!

also 10 screws and 2 bolts to change the air filters is a excessive i think lol

Aye, it takes a few minutes to change these elements - but the screws are numbered - or is that in the 6L.

Going back to the engine pictures, the only thing I noticed was the lack of rusty parts - not like my daughter's 2001 Chill at all!

I'm flushing the system today, I have 5 litres of G12, If I want a 50/50 mix how many litres of coolant/antifreeze should I fill the system with before adding water?

I've always used de-ironised water, Being Christmas I cant get any today.. Can tap water be used?

easiest way is to mix it BEFORE putting it in the car.

1.8T on the leon needs around 4 litres, but can be up to 5 depending on how well its drained.

As getting the mixture right is important, id stick with mixing before filling.
Use an old squash bottle or something.
You will likely use 2-3 bottles of G12.

Tap water is usually ok. up to you, if you are in no hurry and want piece of mind wait. (although i appreciate you may have done this change already)
