coolant light flashing.......

i have noticed a couple of times this week when i start the car in the morning before warming up the light on the left starts to flash and beep beep i have to switch off the engine a couple of times before it goes off.

anybody had this problem and what have you done

Check the prongs of the sensor in the coolant reservoir. Usually get a bit scaley and need scraping off. In severe cases they need replacing.

hmmm! il have to leave that for a dry day then if that ever bludy comes now......

Yeah, just give them a quick scrape with a screwdriver and see if i cures it.

Scraping the prongs lasts for a year then it will beep the next year. By then you should replace the reservoir they are very cheap about a tenner from dealers.

Alot less hassle in the long run i think.

Mine's done it for years now... I just ignore it

Probably not best to always ignore it. I did, and mine was infact leaking, from the radiator and the aux coolant pump...
