Hi guys,

Got a bit of a weird issue. When it's cold I get a warning beep and a flashing red light next to the coolant temperature gauge. From looking in the manual or seems to be suggesting the coolant level is low, but have checked a few times and it's fine. If I let the engine warm up to temp and then turn the ignition off and on again it always clears. Is this anything to worry about?

try scraping the prongs inside the header tank... If that doesnt stop it replace header tank which also replaces the level sensor.

Thanks! I scraped the prongs and that appears to have fixed it! Not had any really cold days since then but fingers crossed.

I have this exact problem for some time now. Asked SEAT on the phone of course they wanted to fit a new sensor @£60 approx, so will try to scrape the prongs as suggested.

Was it easy to access them? Anyone got any advice or photos.

Literally open the top of the washer bottle and you can see the prongs. Get a screw driver and scrape the crap off them. Worked fine for me after that. Not got any pics I am afraid but you can't miss it if you take the bottle top off

I've just developed that issue and looking for a fix but wouldn't scraping the prongs send the crap into the coolant system??

Going to try this myself this morning - it seems to happen every morning throughout the winter, and it's not THAT cold...
