Recently had my car service and i told them that sometimes when the engine is cold the red coolant light flashes on and beeps but my coolant level is fine (if i switch they engine of and start it up again its ok). They told me that they couldn't find any faults but they have topped it up over the max mark as they say it will not do any harm and it might stop it from coming on.
I think it could of just been the switch sticking and think they should not have overfilled the coolant and im gonna drain it out i think.

Scrape a screwdriver up and down the two metal prongs inside your coolant reservoir. This will remove sediment deposited on them, allowing current to flow between them through the coolant. The sediment is preventing current flow and putting the warning light on.
