cooling fan stays on until battery is flat

hi people, I'm having a problem with my 2008 ibiza, the cooling fan is staying on until the battery is completely flat,

i have checked the fuses changed the fan its self, i have even changed the fan control relay on the n/s/f wing, its still the same its a 2002-2008 model with climate control.

i have code read the ecu for the air-con and i get fault code 00705. j279 low speed fan relay open or short to ground.

can anyone help with this?

Hi mate, not sure if you've sorted this now. If not then there is usually a thermostatic switch screwed into the radiator. (If it's a 1.8t then there definitely is) I expect that has short circuited and caused the fan to think the engine is permanantly hot, hence the short to ground code.
