Not sure if it would make any difference but out of interest does the sound stop after 15 minutes when cupra is selected for everything in individual mode?

My 2018 290 with GPF pops and bangs big style on over-run when downshifting in sport mode. I also get some some juicy farts when pushing it.

My car has 9k on it now so I think the exhaust needs a bit bedding in.

When I set off in M1 then change to M2 at about 3.5k revs I get a deeply satisfying low fart/grumble.

I've never noticed it stopping after a while. My car seems to do it all day if you're in Sport/Cupra mode. I tend not to use Cupra mode due to the intrusive Soundaktor. I'll eventually physically disconnect it!

I have a 19plate Cupra which has around 1700miles on and mine doesnt have this problem, i get loads of pops and bangs on over run and also when revving stationary, it also dsg farts when booting it, as above the pops and bangs always happen around 2.5-3k revs and dont stop until i turn the engine off or put the car back into comfort mode

I have had the odd burble and pop in comfort mode but that was only with the gearbox flicked into sport for a quick overtake.

Did anyone make any progress with this?

I have a 2019 GPF Cupra and started having this issue around 4000 miles (now at 7000) and it's literally the most annoying thing about the car. Select Cupra mode and have plenty of pops and bangs but then after about 5 mins or after shifting in to 4th gear they stop, if I cycle through the modes they start again for another 5 minutes. Car is in for a service later this week and I'm going to ask them to look at it.

I have a 20plate Cupra and mine is the same 3-5 mins of popping/crackling/burbling on downshifts and de-cel then nothing.... switch it back into comfort then back into Cupra and then they start again.... very annoying

This is strange... I have noticed this with mine too (2019 with 3k miles)... I thought I was going insane.

In Cupra mode the exhuast will pop/bang for about 5-10 mins but then disappear.

I had a service last week, wish I had asked the question!

It may be a rich fuel cycle during warm up until temps are high enough to allow proper fuel evaporation?
The excess fuel lights up in the cat causing the pops n bangs.

To those that lose the pops and bangs after 3-5 mins, have you unplugged the soundaktor? Reason I ask is that this was what I'd done and hadn't correlated the two! Plugged it back in...pops and bang are back!

mine is also unplugged, can’t see why the 2 would be connected.... will plug it back in and see
