Cordoba Starting

More often than not when i try to start the car it takes a couple of attempts.

When i turn the key nothing happens - if i turn back off and try again it will start.

Is the starter motor causing this? Does it mean i need a whole new starter motor or is the one bit on it i can replace?

Does anyone have the part codes for the motor and/or any other bit that needs replacing? whether it be Volkswagen/seat etc

Its a Cordoba 1.6 SX AFT engine

Thanks in advance for your help, its getting annoying now as i keep putting the alarm in programming mode.

Can you hear the starter motor turning on the first turn of the keys or is it dead? If its dead it could either be the starter or a tempermental ignition switch, The starter on my 1.4 Ibiza failed and that was £100 fitted, however mine didnt just stop it got weaker as time went on.
