I was just a thinking about it learning its fuel curve again. Don't know if I'm talking nonsense

How far you drive, in the display on dash at end of trip check the oil temperature as that needs to be 80-90 degrees to be warmed up

If it's a mix of roads mid 40s reasonable, if you drove to Darlington and back at 70-80 all way and were not high 40s bordering on 50 then I'd say was problem

I go Hartlepool to Boro daily. I get early to mid 40s combined 400 plus a tank, nearer 500 more motorway I do

My 2 cents...I used to have 2.0TDI DSG 150...just under 200 mile trip to York from London, mainly on highway cruising around 75-80mph on cruise control...I averaged 58mpg...and DSG is suppose to give less mpg.

However...it was running Shell V Power Nitro Plus Diesel...perhaps fill her up with full tank of this fuel and see if your 43mpg heads towards 50mpg mark? What instantaenous mpg do you get @ 70mph on Cruise Control? Mine gets (assuming level road) around 62mpg mark...

I get about 43mpg average driving in central London on a weekend medium traffic.

What fuel do you normally use? Supermarket? I once used Tesco diesel....it gave the worst mpg ever...

Agree on fuel - not seen the shell v power diesel up here but shell b p or b p ultimate what I use always avoid Morrisons as has more bio diesel additive in it

1.4 TSI 140 with 85,000 on the clock.

This is my typical tank which includes lots of town stop start driving, lots of reversing exercises, lots of stalling, lots of learner drivers. Slightly higher average speed than usual as it's normally 13mph.

This was my driving on the way home which had no traffic, 30, 40, 50 & 60mph roads with hills.

As you can see from my signature my average mpg over 85,000 miles has been 35.8 but the last 10 fuel ups have been closer to 38. That tank was 41.4mpg despite it saying 43mpg on the computer. The trip computer over reads normally by around 5%

I would expect better from a diesel considering what I get from my petrol, if I remember correctly they want £2500 more for the diesel.

Do around 50 miles a day on average and get around 515 miles to a tank at the moment, it is definitely increasing in the warmer weather though.

Its mainly motorway miles and very hilly but have the cruise on between 70 and 75 and the car is always in eco mode, average reading for a good trip with little traffic is around 51mpg but I have seen 55 before

Tried V power diesel in it and got less mpg than with normal tesco diesel, it dropped to just under 47 using the v power, no doubt it will be better for the engine in the long run but the price difference is too massive to justify with the mileage I currently do.

Quite a mild day today I would say you might notice better mpg down the motorway
