Couple of Questions for MK2 FR Before i pick her up

Hi All


Got a couple of questions for MK2 Leon Owners especially FR 2.0 16V PD170 Owners before i pick mine up on 30th

1.On me MK4 Ibiza at the moment i have got 6000K HID's + Led 501 Sidelights , Will i be able to take me HID'S of Ibiza and fit them straight to the Leon? ive read about it throwing errors on the Can-Bus system? Ive also read about LED Sidelights doing this can somebody tell me what the procedure is?

2.Been Looking at getting a 6 speed Shorter gear Selector Bracket , Exactly the same as Forge Quicksifter but not Forge , I know these are well liked on the MK1 LCR'S any one fitted them to a PD170? as it says they fit 2.0 TDI

3. Same kind of question as above but for the Quick Side Shifter bracket

4.Green Panel Filters? carnt find one listed for 1P 2.0 TDI on greens website are they available? if not what are people using?

Sorry for the questions but i know nout about MK2's , Know quite alot bout MK4 Ibiza and MK1 Leon but not MK2 so its all new to me and i wanna know so i can start modding the day i pick her up

1. No, not easily. Both will show up errors on your dash. I had to get resistors for my sidelights and capacitors for my HIDS, all work fine now but it is a pain in the arse tbh!

4. I'm sure there are green panel filters available but can't remember where I've seen them.

1) As has been said before they will throw up errors on the CANBUS system but if you add resistors then you may be ok. Alternatively you can get HIDS from HIDS4U.
2) Yep, I have the Forge Quckshift on my 2.0 TDI and it will work on the PD170 as well
3) Yep same as above
4) Green Cotton can be had from here or from someone like BadgerBill on the forum

Thats spot on alex , i was hoping get down to the RR day on sst to see your car run but i work away in MK now and was working ( live in cheshire )

Hid's are a must since having them on ibiza wudnt be without them now

what figures did you get? Urs a PD140?

Yep mines is a standard PD140 Not sure if you saw it on the Live RR feed on the Awesome website?
I was a bit down on power on Saturday (188 bhp/352 lbs/ft (Max Clutch Power) instead of the 190 bhp /350 lbs/ft I had previously) but I just put that down to the conditions of the day but not too concerned about it.
My plans money pending is to tweak the handling a bit more and try to make sure all the power goes down onto the road.

You can buy the led sidelight bulbs with built in resistors.Got mine off fleabay;Still working perfectly from the day I fitted em.

Nah i didnt see it on the Cam ,

My Plans are get rid of DPF and get her mapped up as much as possible , Aiming for 230-240 like NickP

Then Lower on Eibachs and probaby Anti Roll Bars front and Back

Fast al- You got a link? i wont fit LED Sidelights until got HID'S tho or else Sidelights make headlights look yellow

Does anybody know if i buy Can-Bus ballasts off Ebay and plug in my Old HID Bulbs from ibiza will these work?


Surely its just the Ballasts themselves that are Can-Bus and None Can-Bus?
