the cupra tdi 160 are bloody quick, remapped they are rapid! 200bhp or not! :funk:

Im worried about mine at the moment.... cant seem to spin the wheels in 2nd anymore (dry), or 3rd in the wet :(

Ive checked vag-com and no fault codes, just need to do some loggin to make sure nothing else is wrong.

Maybe its just my clutch slippin that stops the wheels from spinning

i think that the clutch slips (doesnt grip fully, just a little) when planting in any gear/rpm! i'm for certain when i get my upgraded clutch setup (talking of which spainels!) it will be alot quicker cos all the power is getting to the wheels all the time! :funk:

I think letting the clutch heat up first before full power is used helps.

I took andy (heavy modded LCR) out at the essex meet and he was shocked at the power the car produced, which is nice. :)
unforuntly spainel couldn't use full power cos the turbo was new but it was well planted (nice suspension setup) and you could feel the power ready to be released, in fact spainel what did you think of the remapped cupra?

i had a funny a counter yesterday thought i saw a st pulled up behid it, it was a zetec (1.4?)(not s or st) with home made put on st stripes that looked crap and also down the side.
he booted/flew (lol) off the lights and i didn't give chase pulled up next to him to turn left, as i looked in his direction he give me the smug smile as if to say " i beat you of the lights!" ;)
he lives round here so his embarressment will be felt soon.

and also another day a young owner (st) at a roundabout hanging out his window egging me to follow and race him  i declined. he looked like a twat!

fiesta st young car thinks its fast but it not, look at figures a c2 vts should keep up!

dift=how are you finding the handling/grip?
the more i drive the better it is it has hardly any roll though corners grips nicely and you can throw it into corners. how you finding it? i'm going to get 22mm eibach ARB and coilovers in a year or soo but don't really know if it needs it , you're beeen to a track with it so let me know what the flaws/limits are ;)

thanks

Ill stick to Rollerskate + Rear Arb - ASR = lift off oversteer on demand :)

as far as ESP goes, i just think its a gimmick, granted ive never driven a car in anger with it fitted, but i know it cant be fully turned off...

Couldnt fault the handling on the track to be honest, reallly felt like it was on rails. Front inside tyre did go off quickly once warmed up (p-zero's, and had F1's on the back) and made it very understeery :(. Problem also came on fast long corners (3rd gear) ESP was going mad with the front right lighting up if you tried to accelerate fairly hard :(.Lost out to the Cupra R's on that corner, but could peg them back alot if they werent re-mapped.

Strut brace may of helped on track, as its felt really good, although the P-zero's were pants, if i had F1's all round the car would of been a dream. Plus with a ATB fitted it would be a completely different beast!

One last point was the back end gets VERY light when you brake hard. It really does move around alot!!!! ESP light came on a good number of times braking into paddock. Plus the brakes didnt fade at all... couldnt fault them at all.

Overall was alot better on track than I thought it would be, even though I often found myself deep in the redline, with my brother going through it on occasions!!!:banned:
Not sure if you need the ARB on, its preety stiff already, but im sure the coilovers would transform it, as well as making it look better. I did consider getting some rear spacers for it but the Jury is still out on that one.

That enough info for you?

I thought the handling is spot on and i thought the back end was light esp when braking so spot on, thanks for g8 post! the brakes are awesome. also cpowering out of corners is a pain, wheel spin!

i've got good one:

so if you had the choice of new ARBs, the best coilovers and spacers £800-£1000

or ATB ( £1200) which would be best perfomance investment?

also the front end look good the back looks real high could you just change the rear springs to elibach sport springs & spacers (15mm) lower it 15-20mm or would it mess it up?

If i was going to drive it on a track ESP would do my nut in as no oversteer when you want it, but for the road use, its a good safety feature (huge accident reduction rates) so i think calling it a gimmick is a bit harsh.
Some cars it can be totally switched off i.e. BMW's but for VAG cars it seems it only tones it down rather than cutting it all out even on the Gallardo!

Surely there is some way you could VAG-COM it on and off?

take out the two brake lights! the whole tcs and esp went off because the two brake lights blew!! only the other day! took it to the dealer to fix and that what it wa lol

Little hint: dont bother with the eibach ARB.
Not sure what diameter cupra arb is but the Fabia vRS one is a direct swap and thats already 21mm and about 1/3 the cost of the eibach item.

Also, i (and dozens of others) can *highly* reccomend the Jabba rear ARB... Its quite possibly the best single upgrade to be done the car, bar none!

mmmmmmm, tough one

Not really sure to be honest. Looks wise coilovers all the way, but performance it'd probably be the diff, although im not sure how much use it would be on the road. I hardly ever get to power out of corners in London :(

Plus I think a clutch would be a better performance upgrade at the moment.

If I had to choose one of the two I'd go for the coilovers and possibly the spacers (depending upon what effect they had on the handling). Performance and looks[B)]
