Loving the new Leon. Still prefer the FR though!

Are all Reference models (S models in the UK) pre-wired for front Fog lights? Mine.. er.. wife's car doesn't have them. Going by the online configurator they are only a €200 factory option on the Reference, and I've seen a few with them fitted.

If it is only a plug and play jobbie, I'd be interested in fitting them myself, as it should only be lights and housings, new switch and maybe a VCDS change at the dealer. If is a specific loom fitted during assembly, then forget it.

Second, what's the difference between the 85hp and 105hp 1.2 TSi engines? Is it a bigger turbo or just the engine map (which could be changed??!!!)

Cheers,
Roy

I think you will find the wiring will not be there, gone are the days of car makers using only a few types of loom and just leaving the plugs unconnected ready for people to just buy the accessories and plug them in
Each loom is made to the configuration of what's fitted to the car
May be worth chatting to the workshop or parts department at your local seat there is often a kit you can buy that comes with all you need including wiring pkugs etc
I have one to retro fit front parking sensors to a mk2/3 comes with everything even a rewired front fog oight relay

Might find the 85ps has a 5-speed box and 105ps is 6-speed but not much is known about the 1.2 TSI in the new leon as its a fresh design based on the ea211 architecture, so different to the 1.2 TSI in the mk2 leon

I thought that only the 1.4 TSI was the new design and that the 1.2 TSI was still a carry over from previous models.

Since the 85 PS model is not available in the UK I doubt if anyone will have much info.

In truth does a 1.2 really need a turbo to get 84 PS. Wife's old 2005 Micra 1.2 had 82 PS with no turbo, why would anyone want to go to the expense of fitting one when that power output is easily available without. I accept that the torque is improved with a turbo.

The turbo makes the 85 more driveable and improves economy significantly. arround town it will easily keep up with the 105 its only on the motorway it feels weaker

Oh and the 1.2 TSI in the mk3 is new, although same power figures as mk2 its now 16v (previously 8v) and has a cambelt instead of a chain.
