as always :) averaging 25 at the minute. just polished the cam cover cos i was bored and didnt cost nwt to do. aslong as the engine is shiny it will go faster :D

:-o

My 'life' average (actually only since new battery at mid-January) is 38.3!!!

Stock 8v Cupra Sport, 141k, (10k since mid November!) driven in anger on back roads and decent motorway speeds (which I won't write! [B)] ) I tend not to be overtaken a lot, so I'm not driving like your Nan to get that sort of average...

190???? :wtf: do they think its a leon cupra k1???????

That's what I thought!

Refused to give them my chassis number to price with to be fair, but only cos I got fed up of arguing about what engine has been in the car since the factory last time I needed parts. Last time they flat out told me I was wrong thinking I had a coil pack... I know the car's history from teh day my brother bought it. The engine's original. Did specify capacity, year and tell them it's an AGG, which it is. If they can get teh part wrong with that much info, I've lost interest...

Needless to say, I won't be buying from them... :p

Both are sounding better than £190+, but still quite high.

Still, that's what the dealer wanted to ask me for, and they even defended themselves with the old "it's the price on the system, it's just what we have to charge" spiel.

It's quite possible they were looking at the wrong part and therefore mis-quoting, but if they can't get it right with either a chassis number or a precise description of engine configuration they there's a problem somewhere...

yes, the 5k limit fault can also happen if the crank sensor is poope. but it is more often the ignition timing TBH. have you checked the timing marks? also most new distributors dont come with the timing mark on the casing

went to gsf to get one but the one on the website is thw wrong one for the ibiza, the actual part is a different part number by a digit. (think its 03 instead of 04, or 30 instead of 40) but costs £45 + vat. the difference is the cheap part is a round plastic shaft with something like a tv aerial plug in the middle, the proper part is the same shape and wiring plug but with with 2 recesses in the round plastic and no hole in the centre
