you may well be right, surely someone on here must know where panel seams etc are on the mk2? 'if' there's a seam where the crease is it might be an explanation/cause? i can't find a mk2 rear quarter panel but i think these might be mk1 and mk3 panels and they do extend further up/along so wondering if the mk2 might do likewise?:

I've been a panel beater 16 years lol
The full panel in the pic above will not get fitted,it will be cut and joined at the shortest section or where manufacturer say it should be(have to stick to manufacturer methods now for safety reasons).
An easy way to tell if it's had a quarter panel is to look at the sealer/spot welds if you open the tailgate where the gas struts bolt in.Compare both sides unless it's had two rear quarters

Gents, Kazand kindly told me about this thread which links directly to damage to my Altea XL - here...

You will see I have taken it up with SEAT customer service with little effect so far.

I would welcome any thoughts, better still, any information on other's complaints to SEAT.

I also wonder if anyone has experience of 'scotia vehicle inspection' providing evidence in successful actions against manufacturers ?

The revered 'Honest John' column has recommended their services.
