Cruise Control stopped working

Software would still need to know what gear you are in, iirc you cant engage cruise in first or second, nor neutral.will also disengage if you pull lever out of gear without touching clutch (don't ask)

My cruise works in 1st and second. As long as I'm over about 17 MPH and about 1000 revs it works.

My CC isn't working tried to look at the stalk and it appears to be soldered in rather than a plug.

So I'm not sure what's happened there.

tried Passat today, works in 2nd but not first. not had chance with Leon yet. daren't ask GF to try she'll kill someone.....
