Cupra 280 idle

Never have my air con on.... come on we live in the UK :)

Aircon should be used as much as possible to keep the seals lubricated. Probably not so important with a new car, but with older models it makes a big difference.

Back on topic, my car started to do the lumpy idle from only 300kms. I'm now on 900kms and it does it from cold all the way through to warm. I'm trying to think of it as 'character'

Yeah I have this sometimes.

Also in the morning when I come to a junction and the DSG box is changing to 1st the revs will go really low and then it sort of kicks back into life... sounds like it will stall

Strange!!! :)

i also get this sometimes:(

I agree with you, I've been in both an S3 new shape and R and guess what, they both had a slight judder on cold start. I doubt it's misfiring cylinders/injectors, perhaps the rubber mounts may have a defect..?

Got car back last night, same thing again technician could feel the shake on idle now and then but no stored faults, he checked most of components and couldn't find anything wrong so has recorded the logs and sent them off to seat in milton keynes who will investigate and advise them what to do with my vehicle....

Lets see how long it takes till they figure out whats up with it :D

QUICK UPDATE

coming back from manchester on saturday night all of a sudden epc light came on and went into limp mode, so i pulled over on layby switched engine off waited few mins re started engine and epc light went off, car was not feeling right power wise so took it easy and drove it back steady, got home parked up on drive and rang seat assistance. i thought ill get car out on road so recovery guy could spot it, soon as i started it up big clouds of blue smoke and a really bad misfire!!!

cars now in with dealers, waiting for a diagnostic.... i reckon its injector related hence it having the bad idle from start as smoke is blue/white, smells like un burnt fuel???

If it is a leaking injector I'd demand an oil analysis check to see what sort of petrol dilution has taken place as this is bad news for the turbo. Coming from an alfa I know of a few stories of leaking injectors on 1.75 tbi engines and petrol dilution in the oil which eventually led to multiple turbo failures.

Got a call in morning to let me know that my turbo had collapsed hence the smoke, so will be getting a new turbo, turbo pipes and cat converter all replaced under warranty!!:p:p:funk:

Perhaps it failed due to leaking injector causing petrol dilution in oil. Might be worth asking for oil analysis test on oil to understand why the turbo failed.
