Bl./Chrome

From all the interior shots seen so far. The FR is the same interior with regard to the dash surround and centre console with the black/chrome theme. Helpful cost down activity for SEAT I guess but it's a nice look.

The Cupra 280 launch spec was black / black in the UK (black / chrome was for the 265) however I think rest of Europe have always had black/chrome on the 280/90 so a continuation of the same.

The FR additionally can be spec'd with the same black headliner too. So aside from the steering wheel badge and the gear shift and door cards... As you're sat in the car it's hard to spot the difference. Until the right foot goes down obviously :D

Abroad(Netherlands) indeed standard Black/Chrome, Black/Black as an option only but a free option on the Cupra.

Yes can agree not too much to differenciate inside of a FR or Cupra, apart from the two tone (black-white) interior which is a rather significant one !

In my opinion the new 300 is more mainstream thus not as special as we were used to find with the previous ones.

I really like the look of he 300, plus it's available in blue which is what I want my next car to be . But I hear only the ST is available in AWD - is this true . Surely 300bhp needs AWD given the wheel spin the 280 experiences. Also the latest Cupra need to have the Brembo and bucket seats as standard imo.

Yes the blue is nice.

Could not agree more on the Brembo's !!
Indeed also imo with this output, now 300 but before nearly same, the front brakes -as a minimun- should be the bigger/better brembo type brakes. Front will do 85% of the breaking, so back can remain optional.

As the buckets are not related to safety can stay option only. Moreover as I'm not sure they will be sufficiently high for users over 1,90Mtr of lenght ?

I've renamed this thread as it seems to have emerged as the general Cupra 300 discussion thread.

I'll be at the media launch on Monday and will obviously do our usual review afterwards, but any pictures, things you want to know before I go please let me know. I'll also try and share some stuff live on the day via our Twitter and FB accounts.

Scott

it would be nice if you could spend some words with them on the recently raised rumours for MY2018:
- electric dash aka virtual cockpit
- 7-speed DSG for Cupra 300
- adaptive front-lighting systems (AFS) with full LED

Could you ask them if they can tone up their colour range? I feel it is way too conservative. I personally would love to see yellow, orange and green as an option. Even Audi do a yellow, Vegas yellow I believe. (Unless they used up all the yellow paint stock :D) They should have at least one special paint colour to differentiate the racing pedigree of the Cupra from the rest of the range.

Also, Brembo brakes as standard please.

Finally, please plant the seed for having the 5 Pot engine from the RS3 in a wide body Cupra R version of their race car for the road but with compliant & comfortable suspension. (Sine our roads in the UK are so crap). Now that would be an awesome site & sound.

Oh yeah, let's see a carbon fibre pack.

Dare I also say it, how about a race exhaust option? The RS3 can be specced with one.

More alloy wheel choice would also be good?

So just a few questions :D

Enjoy the launch & look forward to pictures etc,

Cheers

D.

So I've ordered my Leon 300 a couple of days ago, gone for a lease deal over 3 years. only thing I changed was the colour to Monsoon Grey as the paints are free on this deal.

Only things I will regret not going for are the High tech pack and bucket seats, however I couldn't justify paying the extra for those options. Got to say though, whilst shopping around for cars, surprised at the lack of additional options for the exterior like wheels, Performance pack etc

Has anyone found any more vids of the car yet or know when they will be in dealerships for a test drive? Desperate to get behind the wheel!

1/ Indeed some bright and special colour(s) highly needed. One as -bare- minimun.
Contrasting roof option, like black or white.
2/ Brembos on the front axle as min.
3/ 5 Potter would be very, very nice(sound alone....) but price will be very high too. Also because the high emissions from it.
4/ Better sports chairs, like the Audi ones. Include Leon in any interior upgrades, like the liner/lock of the clove comp and adjustable safety belts foreward. Small things which will cost near to nothing but will greatly improve the Leon's position on the costomers market.
As the feeling and general impression of any car will decisive in the final buy(or not).

Big problem is now to keep prices under any other VAG prices as otherwise Seat will lose
a lot of sales to the (as exmpl.) Golf GTI.

INDEED have fun with introduction, in Spain ?
Hope there can be driven with the new cars, inluding a AWD.

There's something about the Cupra launch so far that isn't sitting right with me. I suspect there's more fanfare to come with some announcements. Maybe I'm being optimistic :D

Don't shoot me down so quick. :D It's this alleged 4WD hatch spotted that's nagging me. Wanna throw them the question next week?

I suspect we will see something as a run out model on top of what we have now, but as the 300 has only just come out we're unlikely to get any more details, and I've already asked about that car anyway. :)

First pic I've seen in grey... front end looks so much more modern to me.

Similarish to Mk2 LCR was to LC then?

That run out model thought had crossed my mind. I'm really tempted to wait for it as I don't see the 290 and subsequent 300 as a must have - nice upgrades but nothing worth me racing down to the dealer with a pen in my hand :)
