Do you mean that you decide to replace the diffuser and then after you take the bumper off you just sit there with the new diffuser wondering if you actually want to replace it?

Haha! Once the bumper was off, and the old diffuser, it was too far gone to even contemplate leaving the new diffuser off.

Luckily the bumper went back on the car, new diffuser just slotted into the bumper and the diffuser is bolted in place on the bumper. And the new diffuser is much easier to remove if needed, as we found out when we realised we had used the wrong screw holes for the bumper, and had to remove it all again.

I'm not too fussed about the sound to be honest... but I was a little surprised how quiet the ST Cupra is. The exhaust, to my ears, sounds like a fairly standard 4 cylinder. Unless it sounds a lot different to people on the outside, I could mistake it for a 1.8 on the inside. I'm coming from a MK7 GTI which at the time I thought was quite quiet, but was certainly a lot more... bassy.

Surrealjam...I know we’re your coming when you say about the cupra st 300 exhaust, it sounds better for some reason on the 5dr&the sc.. so I went and got the resonator delete done and it make the exhaust sound so much better, center silencer removed and replaced with a straight pipe.

The some reason is that it’s a completely different exhaust system to the SC and 5 doors. Add to the fact it’s that bit further away and got more boot in between, means it’s quieter still to the driver.
