They need to have a look at the most basic exhaust chop and weld known to man? Wow.

Went to the exhaust shop in worcester and he quoted be £70 + vat. Abit much just for chopping the exhaust out. My search continues.
Any of you guys in my area recommend anywhere?

my friend was down visiting me today with his completely standard cupra. never realised how loud mines actually is until the 2 cars were side by side with the engines running. mine's sounds so much better!
i gave him a shot of mines so i could hear what my exhaust sounds like from the outside, sounds a lot different to the noise within the cabin, and there was a fair few pops and farts.
Thanks for all the info mateenjoyed having a look as I'm hoping to do this to my Facelift FR but just worried about the sound, doesn't sound really loud on tick over does it? Or chav'vy loud when your driving around normal/ want to gun it?.
Did listen to the videos but its always hard to tellbut from what I heard it does sound nice and for 70 that's not bad at all
. Is it just the middle silencer taken out but the rear left in?
cheers mate!
no not loud at all, a really nice burble when the exhaust is warm at idle. that is all.
under acceleration the sound isn't hugely different to standard, just a bit louder. i have the forge blow off spacer fitted and you can hear that a lot more with the silencer removed. then when you're changing gear using the paddles at anything over 3k revs you're almost guaranteed a pop/fart if the exhaust is warm. sounds glorious! i can't stop playing with it!
to me it sounds similar to a cooper s.
and yeah its just the middle silencer, i'm not too sure if it would be too loud without the rear one on. i'll need to take the car out tonight and get a better video of it driving, the 2 videos i posted in this thread are when the engine is cold, which doesn't really give a full representation of what it actually sounds like.
No problemthanks for the info mate
think I'm going to go ahead and get it done, I've contacted a local exhaust place and they've asked what the measurements of the pipe that needs to be welded in are you wouldn't happen to know them at all?
Another place I'm trying to get a hold of but there busy so trying to get a hold is awkwardand they are a custom exhaust shop aswell.
Belive its 2.25"
Had this done today, makes a massive difference to the sound of the car. Bangs/pops on the upshift around 3500 - 4000
Unfortunately my car is currently missing the majority of the rear interior so I foresee it being a pretty annoying 120 miles up to Crail tomorrow to annoy some Corsa VXRs.
