Cupra in Mexico

Guys just a quick question, i live out in Mexico and i have an Ibiza Cupra but its the Mexican spec cos it does stuff like lock the doors when reaching about 5 mph. So my question is does anyone know if its possible to configure it so that when i pull the key out of the ignition barrel the locks pop open?
I used to have an Audi S4 and it had the config where when pulling away the doors would lock and when pulling the key out they open. And to be honest i prefer that cos im tired of having to pull the door handle twice to open the door......im worried that so much use will break it
any help would be great guys.

yes my Mk4 locks at 10mph and unlocks when you remove the key (same as your audi)

you will need to use VAG COM or find someone with it to do it for you

thanks, and thats what i thought how ever when i went to the local stealer here they told me that it couldnt be done or that no program exists, i did have the feeling though he was about to go on his lunch break and couldnt be arsed to answer my stupid question, but thanks for reasuring me that it can be done.
do you think that there might be an error with mine then ? or did you have yours re configed?

The dealers don't use vag-com but their official tool can do the same sort of things - 1551/1552

I would say yours just hasnt been set up to do it.

mine was like it from new (i havent changed anything)

Same her with me mate, my doors unlock when I take the key out, and did it on the car from new.

How is your engine coping with the hot mexico weather? Does the fan stay on for ages when you park up? Have you looked at a cold air feed?

Hi Chris,
i have just been to my dealer just now and they are telling me that the re configuration for the unlocking doors cant be done, and that european cars are just simply made differently, im sure that they are talking shite, what do you think? any light on the subject?
As for the fan, no mine doesnt stay on at all, as soon as i switch my engine off everything turns off either that or its very very very quiet. Yes, i have looked at cold air feeds but have wondered if they are worth all the hassle and to be honest after looking around for my car on the web i have found very little makes that do ANYTHING for my car. But if you know of someone please let me know, cos i know that it can make a bit of difference feeding nice cold air into the box.

actually while im here can i ask if anyone knows about xenon lights, as i have just been to my dealer and managed to wangle myself some light clusters that have zenon lights. They are off a damaged Ibiza and the glass on the front is broken but the rest is fine. I dont actually have them in my posession at the moment, but is it going to be as simplie as "plug and play"?

1551/1552 are the computers they plug into your car at the dealers

Sorry I don't have the time to do the search at the moment. Yet it is definitly possible to reconfigure numerous things with 1552. Do a search on this site you should find somthing explaining which chanels need to be opened if not I'll wright when I have more time!

You can change it in 46 - Central Convenience. You can set it to open the driver door with an unlock/key pull or to open all the doors with an unlock/key pull

Mine was set to open only driver door from new and I always use the boot so I needed to unlock it manually every time. Not now, thanks to VAG-COM! The Stealers can change this with their tool. Or so I'm told

thanks Natty and from what i have been told they can change it aswell, but yesterday they told me that they couldnt do it, and to be honest im getting pretty pi***ed off with them cos they can never do anything that i want. is it possible to get hold of a VAG COM or am i miss understanding what that is?

Yeah, thats what I mean by manually. 2 presses of the key or a press of the unlock button on the driver door...
