I had a similar case. In October I received information from a dealer with build week 2 or 5, but in two days I've been informed that the build date has been temporarily disappeared. I have no updates since then.

It’s been in the business news the the plant is shutting down now for 4 weeks instead of the normal 2. Hence the build schedule change

Had a text today to say my car has arrived at the dealers and to confirm my delivery date. The earliest I could pick was 5th of January but had to opt for the 7th instead. Happy days.

Why such a long wait?

Why such a long wait?

I’m guessing because they got a lot of deliveries to make and with me being in the valleys in South Wales they probably didn’t fancy the 8-10hour trip here and back before Christmas lol I wasn’t able to pick up either because of covid

I had the joy of being greeted by my new car this morning. Before the old one goes back I thought I'd share a couple of side by side comparisons.

Prior to getting the 300 I knew I preferred the rear, but still wasn't sold on the front. Seeing them side by side confirms how improved the styling is on the new Cupra. It makes the old shape seem soft and round. The only things I prefer on the old car are the alloys and Mirrors.

Looking forward to putting many many miles on this beast

I don't understand why people like the flush headlights (like on old seats and current golf) - me and my wife think it makes cars look like they are from 2000s and very dull, without any details or personality. Makes the car look like it's a "mouth breather" and neutered.

New design reminds me of Lancer EVO X, which was my dream car and looks superb, gives character and looks aggressive and predatory and like it was designed, and not just painted on bodywork as an afterthought.

Just dinked my passenger side alloy... Very frustrating, I done well to keep the car away from all curbs but was worried with a wagon on my side passing through!

I'll let you guys know how much it costs... It doesn't look cheap.

It’s never nice to hear that sound of alloy making contact with a concrete kerb stone.

For a top quality refurb of a 19” diamond cut alloy, you’re probably looking at around £90 - £100 plus VAT. Lepsons are reputed to be one of the best alloy wheel refurbishers and their price for a single 19” diamond cut wheel is £100 + VAT (extra charge to remove and refit the tyre and rebalance the wheel).

To be fair, it was the price I naturally had in my head. Unfortunately for me, I’ll have to go somewhere a bit more local as Gillingham is a 6.5 hour drive. And yes, devastated isn’t the word as it was the one thing I feared with the car! Didn’t help that my mate spilled coke over the centre console not long after it happened, what a day ??

@irfy8; I don’t know if it’s changed in recent years, but some alloy wheel insurance policies didn’t used to cover diamond cut alloys, so assuming your Cupra wheels are diamond cut, it‘d be worth checking the small print in your policy to make sure you’ve not been sold a policy that doesn’t meet your requirements.

Personally speaking, I’d rather choose the company to refurbish / repair my wheels if the need arises, rather than have to use the company that the insurance company tells me I’d need to use. The insurance company’s objective will be to keep repair costs as low as possible, and that could be reflected in the repair method used and the quality of repair.

Afternoon all,

Anyone order around the start of September and have a build date?

I ordered a VZ3 300 in Graphene Grey on September 9th, with an estimated delivery date (by the dealer) Jan/Feb '22. Jan is now here and still no build week at all. I'm hoping someone - ANYONE - can shed some light for me.

Dealer and SEAT Customer Services have been less than helpful in their communication of "We have no update", and with my PCP ending in March, I need a car!

Cheers
