From what I Know of course it does only on the front axle.

Most drivers will never use or make the most of it any way though

The 4drive Cupra, Golf R, S3 all have the same open front diff and uses the XDS braking system up front and not the VAQ e-diff. The VAQ e-diff bolts in place on the FWD 290/300/Golf GTi gearbox where the output normally is for the haldex system to send power aftwards.

The VAQ diff on the Leon from what I've read is akin to a front drive haldex unit consisting of a pump controlled clutch operating on a single output shaft so very dissimilar to a Torsen type front diff but mimics the characteristics while minimising torque steer
