It was too long, even with the couple of inches play (I could make it shorter or longer with a bolt).
Judging from Peachy's picture and my strut, the Golf just has too wide of an engine bay.
Furthermore, the OE bolts didn't line up. if I lined up one side it would be crooked as hell!
Furthermore, the strut itself wasn't much higher than the fixing points, meaning it was catching on the charge pipe.
So I wouldn;t even bother trying the MK3 anymore.
I think its time for the 6N, as I am still not going for the stealers one and getting it cromed.
Damn hope someone here in Holland is looking for a MK4 golf Gti strut for a bargain
Ok guys...this is still not letting me go. I still want a polished strut brace. So the below remarks came from a recent thread which might shed some new light on this: the below is from thread "Golf vr6 splitter"
