Hi,

Firstly Hello to everyone, Ive been a regular on http://www.uk-mkivs.net for
a couple of years, but this is potentially my new home :D

Im currently looking to buy a 54/05 plate LCR and wonder if someone could
answer the following for me:

1) What extras were available from new, I was looking for Xenons and the full colour
screen Sat Nav, were these available? Rare?

2) Whats the deal with seats, Im from a Golf background where standard were
sports seats, with recaros as an option - I believe this is the same case? or were they
fitted to certain year cars?

3) Fuel - whats a realistic achievable figure on a normal run on A roads at 60/70mph?

Thanks for any help

Chris

I average 32 with a CC'd Cupra R 04 and that is driving town and motorway each day. They are pretty good and this allows for hoofing it when you want unless that is all the time for some people. Also with a little bit of effort you can manage 37-38mpg on a motorway journey. :)

I think 53-54 came with tracker?

On a regular days drive to work, pretty steady I usually achieve around 34 to 36 MPGs. When I give it some, obviously it reduces which is what the car is all about! When doing business miles (which I do a lot of) I try to drive steady as it's in my interest to burn as little fuel as possible so I make more money. On the motorway, just having a steady cruise around 70 to 75 mph usually achieves 40 to 41 MPG on most occasions in my LCR 225.

They are very reasonable if you control yourself and don't let yourself put your foot down. On the other hand, it is great when you give it some thrash and beat most cars to a pulp!!!

I do have Xenons, but they weren't standard. The guy I bought it from had them fitted somewhere. Can't beat 'em though!!

I guess the figures your being quoted are mainly from the computer on the Ave. mpg read out.

On a chipped car this readout is less accurate than std car so the figures people quote are approximate.....then again if you know Golf's you know the 1.8T is pretty economical whether it's in a TT or Skoda VRs.

On the Recaro seats issue they were a massive extra cost over standard seats, the only benefit IMO was lumbar adjustment, otherwise they were pretty much the same........infact you can play spot the difference yourself......drivers seat is Recaro, passengers is standard

Ruddmeister always says that - personally I think the Recaros are much better, but I don't have them in mine. In the <53 cars the Recaro option included the rear bench 53 and on it was the fronts only and the price was dropped.

If you look, the lateral support on the Recaros is higher and deeper.

I'd suggest you try the Recaros if you can, just to see if you get on with them

I tend to agree, I went out and got a set second-hand, they dont look a great deal different (only really the way the headrests sink into the seat), but you seem to sit lower in them and they do offer much more support.

So no OEM Xenons, thats interesting.

Was the upgraded leather interior always recaros, or were there just leather "sports" seats?

Cheers for all the advice guys, now I just need to find a car! (Revod PD150 Golf goes on Sat )

No leather available in a Cupra R at all. Both the standard and Recaros are trimmed in the same sheer black cloth.

It'll be a retrim.

In fact the black one is advertised as having a "unique leather interior".

Can't see another one on that list with leather (and one of those is a TDi FR+, not an R)

When I ordered mine the dealer even said dont bother with recaros as they are hardly any different. Very few options on the R, tracker was standard on the 225s upto about the last 6months of its life. As said no Xenons which is a shame as the std lights were crap, loads on the 2nd hand market now so you can get a good motor for a low price.
