Hi all, thinking of upgrading my brakes to the cupra r brembos but have a few questions:

1) i read on here that they wont fit under the standard cupra 5 spoke wheels due to caliper offsets, but i have a set of seat sport oz's knocking around, so will they fit under that?

2) To do the conversion will i just need discs, calipers and pads (there's no need to change hubs and stuff is there?)

3) do cupra's and cupra r's share the same rear brakes?

4) any one have an idea on hte cost for the discs, calipers and pads?

cheers chaps

just finding the calipers seems to be a challenge for me. I work for crn products so discs and pads arnt a problem ;)

Even the dealers don't stock the calipers hmmm lol

They wont fit behind the standard 5 spokes and they will only fit under the OZ if they are proper seat sport ones supplied on a cupra r before as they have a different offset to allow for caliper clearance which the normal off the shelf OZ in the same style did not. Think the offset is 35. The dealers can supply the calipers. I think Bill at Badger5 does the best price for Brembos. You need the calipers and carriers and lines aswell as the discs and pads iirc but no need to change hubs. The rear brakes on cupra and cupra r are the same. Cost new for a full set up comes up at about £900 but they do come up second hand for around £500-600 every now and then. They seem to come up on edition38 more often than here. And before you ask yes some other brembo/porsche brakes do fit with abit of work or custom carriers but none of the cheap ones.

Theres no certain et that guarantees they will fit over brembos. Your best bet is to check the thread in Bills section as to what fits.

I got the brembo conversion from badger5, not cheap but you get what yopu pay for....4pot power! Go to the trading section and go to badger5's section, then its near the top ish under a sticky called "brembo group buy" come with everything, calipers, carriers, discs, braided brake lines, lock stock the f**kin lot! :D

Gotta be quick with the GB's, only needed 5 people and i think we got 6 in the end. Dead happy with mine, dont know how i ever did any heavy braking with my old standard brakes on ko3s, they are shocking compared to Brembos, especially during high speed braking!

No not identicle but still brembos, just the porcshe decals. I think they do a larger version of the for pots called big reds? or they could be 6pot ones, not sure.

No, not just the porsche decals make them different. There are many many brembo calipers out there some badged brembos and some with other badges and none of them are the same as the ibiza cupra ones. The closest porsche calipers to the ibiza cupra brembos do not just have different decals but are also slightly larger.
