Hello Guys,

I'm hoping you can help me with this one, so I'm looking for the easiest way to turn on the cooling fans on a switch from inside the cabin, have done a few track days and would like the fans to be able to be turned on after a lap but I am struggling to locate a good method of doing this without ruining the original fan set up.

Any advice would be great!

Depends how good you are at electronics really mate. If you're fairly handy with multimeter then there is a thermal switch that screws into the radiator that has 3 pins. It switches the fans on low at something like 96C and fast at something around 105C via the fan control module.
If you can find out what the signal is to turn the fans on high speed (ie is that wire being grounded or supplied with 12v when the fan switch goes above 105C) then if you wired a relay in parallel with that line, you could provide the appropriate signal by switching dash switch when needed. It should also allow the switch to still operate as normal when the relay is not energised.
That's all from memory and just off the top of my head, someone else might know an easier way or may be able to think of a reason why my idea won't work. If you are cool with working out how that 3 pin switch works, then it should be easy enough to do something along those lines.

Edit: Obviouly you would need to fuse it in the appropriate places too, either with an inline fuse or by spurring from an already fused power source
