Excellent. Thanks for that. I pray the UK version has the same specs.

Your car looks fantastic hope you enjoy it and look forward to hearing more about it .

Hopefully i’ll be joining the club in a few weeks

Just had some bad news from the dealer re the UK specs for the Cupra R ST.

This from the head of sales for Cupra UK replying to my dealers query on specs.

“‘Thanks for your note, I can confirm that the car comes with heated front seats, keyless entry & go but does not include ACC. Unfortunately we are not able to add this as an option either on this limited special edition.

I appreciate this is not the answer the customer is looking for but hope that the additional specification offered on the vehicle is sufficient to ensure that the customer confirms the order.’

How typical is that! The vehicle will obviously have the standard Cruise Control and anti-collision ‘Front Assist’ system but I appreciate, not the bit you wanted”

I’m gutted. I can’t believe the UK get a lesser spec’d car!
I’d this why we get the ABT tune for £500 as a sweetener I wonder ????

This really winds me up, why does UK get the lesser spec'd versions??

It was the same with the hatchback Cupra R, ROE could spec DSG and ACC with all the traffic and lane assist stuff. However UK didn't have the option for the DSG however had ACC but no lane assist.
The carbon edition ST, Looks amazing you get the bucket seats big brakes etc however you couldnt spec any of the above. Not even a sunroof?
The marketing sector just makes no sense. Is it the bean counters at VW HQ saying they cant spec this as its competition to the Golf R? Who knows.

I was considering the Cupra R ST, however i use the ACC so often on mine I'm not sure I would want to give that up.

ACC is a big thing I’ve always wanted and I’m really gutted about that.
Lane assist would have been good, but I’m not that bothered about that.

Does this mean that it won’t even have ‘High Beam assist’ also ?
I can’t remember what pack that depends on??

Part of me doesn’t want to believe what I’ve been told about no ACC on UK car.
Why would they have it on the LH drive cars, but not put it in the RH drive cars ?
KernelOkey has already confirmed his car has it, and every review on YouTube of the car clearly has the ACC stalk (albeit all LH drive cars)

I’ve been scouring UK press/motoring sites for spec but none sadly state ACC.
However interestingly Carwow and several other UK leasing sites DO list ‘adaptive cruise control’ as standard equipment.
See here for eg (look under ‘more standard features > Driver aids’)
https://www.nationalvehiclesolution...-R-ST-300-5dr-DSG-4Drive-Personal-Lease/90348

Or here from the Car specs on Carwow lease comparison

What do you guys think ?

I don’t know if anyone is interested in the UK Cupra R ST specs, it could just be me lol, but its becoming a bit of an obsession for me since I have ordered one.

In addition to my dealer getting the above info (5 posts up) from the head of Cupra product manager UK I also reached out directly to Cupra via the ‘contact us’ form on the ‘Cupraofficial’ Uk website.
Sadly it just looked to redirect the enquiry to standard Seat customer services.
My query was does the UK version have ACC,High Beam Assist,Lane Assist like the EU version.

The reply from Seat CS was as follows...
I do apologise we are not able to offer any further information other than the following and most current information we have been provided are below;

Alcantara CUPRA bucket seats with copper stitching
Exclusive 19” copper alloy wheels
Quad rear exhausts with CUPRA logo
High performance Brembo brakes
Carbon fibre front lip and rear diffuser
Carbon fibre side blades
Carbon fibre rear spoiler
Copper side grids
Alcantara CUPRA steering wheel with alcantara gear knob
CUPRA R engraving in console
Copper dashboard inserts
Wireless charger
Rear view camera

Any new released information will be published on the Cupra website for the SEAT LEON CUPRA R ST which I have included below;

https://www.cupraofficial.co.uk/cars/leon-cupra-r-st.html

Of course the above website has no specs at and the ‘contact us’ bit directs the enquiry back to Seat CS who clearly don’t know.

I may be clutching at straws but I’d really love to find out the actual specs so I can adjust my expectations once and for alll before I get the car. I guess but the best info would have come from the Cupra product manager who said it has Heated seats and Kessy and was specific that it had no ACC.

You’d think somebody knew something somewhere ?!?!?!?!?

2 of those things in the list are wrong lol The side blades are painted with a CF insert. And the exhaust doesn't have any Cupra logo/flag/lettering of any kind. You'd think Seat woudl get their **** together.

The first batch of these for the UK will all be Blackness Grey for May/June delivery.

The other 3 colours Black/White/Magnetic will all be available for Sept/Oct delivery.

This was on a bulletin the dealer showed me. Hence why I ordered the Blackness Grey one, it would have been my 3rd choice otherwise.

Hi all i was going to order one weeks ago then i stopped myself i am so glad i did the car however special the hype is not worth the asking price
even if you haggle the asking price so i have gone for the Bmw M140i shadow edition with a few extra options having driven it the sound that straight six makes the quality and build is in a different league i have enjoyed my 2 years with the cupra and its a great all round car but i feel its time for a change
cheers

This is the thing SEAT hype it up it’s got this this and this but when it comes to the uk it has a lot of the European market extras removed.

Pretty sure it’s going to go the same way as the cupra r and carbon edition where lots of dealerships will buy them then sell them off pre registered after 3 months.

I still want one, regardless if they drop in price, I need another car as my mk1 cupra r is no longer practical for a everyday car. Been quoted £553 on pcp over 4 years with a 10,000 mile allowance. If I don't get picked from the list I don't think I will ever get another Seat again, as there customer service sucks.

It’s not a jab at yourself, I would love a cupra r st. Just angries me that they seem to dull down the options for the uk. If you can wait 3 months no doubt your get it a bit cheaper.

Re the options, a small part of me still doesn’t want to believe the UK version will dumbed down.

As previously mentioned carwow, and several other UK leasing sites who list the Cupra R ST have it as fully spec’d as the EU version.
Maybe I’m dreaming idk, but how/why would these sites have all the spec present on there sites ? They must have got this info from somewhere ?

But then again they did it with the UK Carbon Edition so maybe that is the real telling clue.

As per my post in the ‘who’s ordered a Cupra thread’ it looks like these cars will start arriving in the UK end of June.

My dealer has confirmed that I have 100% got the car. They have got one with a sunroof that was ‘auto-issued’ to them for being a Cupra specialist and that’s mine. They have requested a 2nd car without sunroof for their showroom.

Contradictory though he states that ‘allocation’ starts week 23/19 which is 3rd June onwards.
I asked what that means and was told that is when the car moves into his inventory/stock.

He then reckons ‘a couple’ of weeks until they arrive at the dealers, transport company depending.
Seems optimistic to me ?

To try and verify some of this info with another dealer I phoned up DMKeith York, and spoke to the Cupra Guy there.
He said they will be getting the Blackness Grey Cupra R ST into the showroom on the 19th June (give or take a few days) and if I wanted to go and test drive it I could. I asked could I buy it and he said it won’t be released for sale for ‘a few months’ and that I’d be better ordering another one, with the larger choice of colours for October delivery.

Interesting, but the June date sounds promising

Well it looks like I may also be ending my Cupra journey before it actually starts.

Once again the dealer bullsh*t wagon has rolled into town and I won’t be getting any Cupra R ST anytime soon.

I had a lot of to and fro’ing either the Cupra dealer yesterday and it turns out that all the Cupra R ST’s have already arrived in the UK and have already been allocated out to dealers/buyers whatever and my dealer..of course... hasn’t got one for me.
This is after he has continually told me that he was getting one in May 23rd, then 3rd June, now the latest from Seat dealer support is that quote “over the coming weeks and months we are hope-full some more will arrive in the UK and they will be allocated when they do so”

I could try to find out which Cupra dealers have got these Cupra R ST’s but as the deal I had secured with my local dealer was very good (too good maybe that’s why I’m not getting the car ?) I don’t think there will be any point.
At the end of the day as much as I want the R ST it’s still a Seat and most people think I was crazy paying £35k for one in the first place !!

I’ve given the the dealer until Monday to provide me with a concrete date of getting the car so he’s contacted his area manager for help, but I won’t hold my breathe.

Going to look at maybe getting a 1-2yr old Audi S3, BMW 335d, or even a Merc c43 as a back up plan

C43 is a lovely car, once I'm done with my b9 s4 that's what I'll be going for
